1. Agreement
These Terms of Service form a legally binding agreement between you and UKContracts.uk. By using our website, accounts, APIs, or documents (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. We are not a law firm
UKContracts.uk is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. The Service provides legal document templates and AI-generated drafts, which are information only. See our full Disclaimers.
3. Accounts
To use paid features you must create an account. You agree to:
- provide accurate and current information;
- keep your password confidential;
- be responsible for all activity on your account;
- be at least 18 years old.
4. Permitted use
You may use the Service to generate documents for your own business or personal use, or for your employer (within the scope of your employment).
You must not:
- resell our templates as your own products;
- scrape, copy, or reverse-engineer the Service;
- use the Service for unlawful purposes;
- use the Service in a way that could harm UKContracts.uk or other users;
- use the Service to generate misleading or fraudulent documents.
5. Subscriptions and payments
- Free tier: some features are available without payment, subject to usage limits and watermarks.
- Paid plans: billed in advance via Stripe. Prices are in GBP unless otherwise stated and exclude VAT (where applicable).
- Renewal: subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time before the next billing date.
- Refunds: consumers in the UK may have a 14-day statutory right to cancel. By starting a paid subscription, you agree we may begin providing the Service immediately, which may affect that right.
6. AI-generated content
AI features rely on third-party language models (currently Anthropic's Claude). AI output may contain errors. You agree to review AI output before using it. We do not warrant that AI output is accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose.
7. Intellectual property
- Our IP: the Service, including templates, software, design, and trademarks, is owned by UKContracts.uk.
- Your content: you retain ownership of the information you input. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, process, and use it solely to provide the Service.
- Generated documents: on payment of any fees due, the document you generate is yours to use as you wish, subject to these Terms.
8. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Subject to that, to the fullest extent permitted by law:
- UKContracts.uk is not liable for any indirect, special, or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of business, loss of contracts, loss of goodwill, or loss of data;
- our total aggregate liability to you in any 12-month period is capped at the greater of £100 or the fees you paid to us in that period;
- we are not liable for losses arising from your use (or misuse) of templates or AI output.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to us or other users. You may close your account at any time. On termination, you remain liable for fees accrued before termination.
10. Changes to the Service or these Terms
We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified to you by email or in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers resident outside England and Wales may bring proceedings in their own jurisdiction where required by law.
