1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide reporting information.
2. Cookies we use
We aim to keep our cookie use to a minimum. Where we use non-essential cookies, we ask for your consent first under the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 (PECR).
Strictly necessary cookies
- Session: to keep you logged in while you use the Service.
- CSRF token: to protect against cross-site request forgery.
- Preferences: to remember your cookie consent choice.
Third-party cookies during Google Sign-In
If you choose to sign in with Google, your browser is redirected to accounts.google.com during the OAuth flow. Google sets its own cookies on its own domain at that point — these are not set by us and we cannot read them. After you authorise the sign-in, Google redirects you back to UKContracts.uk and the only cookies that remain on our domain are the strictly-necessary session cookies listed above. To manage Google's cookies, see your Google Account → Data & privacy settings.
What we don't use
- Advertising or retargeting cookies
- Social media tracking pixels
- Cross-site tracking
3. Managing cookies
You can change your cookie preferences in our cookie banner at any time. You can also block or delete cookies via your browser settings. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the Service (for example, you may not be able to stay logged in).
